New Interface Redesign for WhatsApp

Posted on

OtakGames, News – WhatsApp has been consistently introducing new features to its platform in recent years. This trend has gradually accelerated, with frequent additions on the beta channel. Some recent updates include simplifying the sharing of uncompressed media. The Meta owned platform has also introduced AI-generated stickers.

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new interface for its Android app. The design tweak by the Meta-owned instant messaging app brings enhancements to the top app bar and UI elements, as per a report. In the new design, the top bar is shown in white colour, with other UI elements seen in green colour. WhatsApp’s revamped design has been reportedly spotted in the WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.23.18.18, which is available via the Google Play Beta programme. However, it is not visible to all testers yet. Recently, WhatsApp also rolled out support for sending HD photos and videos.

WhatsApp New Design Interface

As per a report by WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new interface for its Android app. The design revamp was allegedly spotted in the 2.23.18.18 beta version for Android, which is available via the Google Play Beta programme. The new interface is still under development and is not visible to all beta testers. Furthermore, this beta release introduces a new font for WhatsApp’s branding at the top. This gives the app a whole new refreshed look and feel.

These collective changes bring a more contemporary look and feel to WhatsApp. Although the navigation bar remains at the bottom in this new design, it’s currently uncertain whether you’ll be able to swipe to switch between tabs. This is because further details on this functionality are not yet confirmed.

To enhance the management of your growing list of conversations, the redesigned WhatsApp app will incorporate chat filters at the top. These filters will enable you to easily sort and view your unread, personal, or business messages. While they had made an appearance in a previous WhatsApp beta build, the latest version features an updated appearance. These filters are expected to become even more valuable when WhatsApp introduces multi-account support.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp also started rolling out the ability to send HD videos through a new toggle in the app earlier this month. It also rolled out support for sending high-resolution images. With the WhatsApp for Android 2.23.17.74 update, users can share videos in 720p resolution instead of the standard — and default — 480p resolution.
