The visuals Resident Evil Village are claimed to be on par with console games
So, even if played on a portable device such as a smartphone or tablet, the gameplay and visual quality of Resident Evil Village on the iPhone 15 Pro or iPad Pro M1/M2 is claimed to remain on par with the console PC platform.
This claim was made by Apple at the launch of the iPhone 15 Pro last September. According to Apple, this can be realized thanks to the capabilities of the A17 Pro chip which powers the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The chip designed with 3 nanometer (nm) fabrication technology has a transistor count of up to 19 billion transistor units, an increase from 16 billion transistor units in the A16 Bionic iPhone 14.
This chip has a processor (CPU) with a core count of up to six cores (6-core). which is claimed to be 10 percent faster than the A16 Bionic, as well as a graphics processing unit (GPU) with a core count of up to 6 cores with a 20 percent increase in performance from the previous generation.
Furthermore, the A17 Pro GPU is also equipped with a Mesh Shading feature to improve visual quality in games, as well as Ray Tracing to support realistic light reflection effects.
With a hardware configuration and GPU features like this, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are claimed to be able to run high-budget games, aka triple-A (AAA), which generally require high specifications on computers (PCs) and consoles.
Apart from Resident Evil Village, several other AAA games will also come to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max in the future. Some of them include Resident Evil 4 Remake, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Death Stranding Director’s Cut.
It is not certain when these games will launch on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Let’s just wait.
