OtakGames – It appeared as if a brand fresh version of Command and Conquer was set to launch. The entire RTS series was canceled and redesigned in Steam in the spring of this year The days were filled with Red Alert, Yuri’s Revenge and Kane’s Wrath seemed like they could come back, but for moment, we’re in the process of awaiting news about C&C’s future. It’s not a reason to be discouraged However, there’s a reason to be hopeful. You can playtest the game through Steam today The new real-time strategic game that feels like a traditional return to Command and Conquer, that old-fashioned Westwood game, but with essential quality-of-life improvements.
It’s RTS Tactical Warfare that, if you blur your eyes, appears the same as Red Alert 2 or Tiberian Sun. It was developed by an independent game developer Mizrab the game comes with mission-based campaign, multiplayer mode, skirmish, and Siege Survival, in which you have to construct the best, most advanced, and most importantly, repair defensive bases in order to defend yourself from ever-increasing wave of enemies. There are two factions each human, as well as various weapons. At first, it could sound like your typical RTS-based game. However, RTS Tactical Warfare has a several tips.
The first is building queues. In contrast to traditional Command and Conquer, where you only have the ability to construct only one facility at a time, with RTS Tactical Warfare, you can build multiple new buildings or even arrange the order in which they are placed. If you’re looking to build the tenth turret, but you don’t wish to scroll across the frontline back to your base each time one is finished, you can plan them all out and install them with the blueprint system when you’ve completed them.
Then, there’s the war planner. This is which is a more intuitive, but complex technique for giving orders. It’s still possible to use the concept of ‘move’ as well as attack, however, the war planner lets the user specify which paths they prefer units to travel as well as which buildings or units you would like them to target first. Particularly during Red Alert and Tiberian Dawn You may have an entire infantry force as well as a perfectly flanking route which you’ve planned, but once you start sending all of them forward, the route finding is muddled and the units get separated, which can ruin your plan before it’s been able to get started. It won’t happen here.
You can also immediately switch from the traditional isometric camera to one with a greater, more expansive perspective view. This may sound like a small change, but it will allow you to maintain your screen’s base as you scour the edges of the battle fog for any enemy that is threatening instead of panning around or depending on the miniature map. Couple this with the visually appealing style that pays an ode to the C&C classics as well, and RTS Tactical Warfare is worth the time.
