Games, OtakGames – An anonymous leaker has claimed that Resident Evil 9 will take place on an island similar to Singapore in Southeast Asian Sea and be released in January 2025.

Aesthetic Gamer, commonly referred to as Dusk Golem, has made headlines for providing reliable information regarding Capcom games. According to him, RE 7, Village, and RE 9 all feature one storyline each.

A credible leaker has revealed that Resident Evil 9 will be set on a Singapore-inspired island in the Southeast Asian Sea

Dusk Golem has revealed that Capcom’s next mainline Resident Evil game will take place in a fictional rural town on an island in Southeast Asia inspired by Singapore, making this different than previous mainline Resident Evil titles, which featured small towns situated across Eastern Europe as their location.

Leaks also indicated that this new entry would be open world, featuring environments surrounded by forests and mountains as well as new enemies that will resemble Wendigos or Goatmen from series lore.

The leaker boasts a solid track record and has proven accurate in past leaks, although no details about gameplay were given out by him. Still, fans were thrilled by this announcement as they eagerly anticipate seeing Ethan Winters back in another installment of Resident Evil mainline series and possibly concluding his storyline begun in Resident Evil Village.

It is a direct sequel to Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil 9 will reportedly serve as a direct sequel to Resident Evil Village, giving fans hope of seeing Rose return with another familiar face. This news comes at an exciting time!

However, fans shouldn’t necessarily expect what fans want from the ninth game in this series – though it will bring closure to Winters family storyline it is not expected to be a sequel to 2021 or its DLC, Shadows of Rose.

AestheticGamer provided extensive details that demonstrate Capcom’s dedication to crafting an immersive experience that both intrigues and horrifies players. RE9 has had an extended development cycle, which suggests they’ve made every effort to push genre boundaries while providing memorable gameplay – moving away from numbering titles so as to tell more self-contained stories.

It is set to be released in January 2025

Capcom’s Resident Evil series fans have been waiting nearly three years since the last mainline entry and demand that Capcom deliver one soon. A report indicates they plan to unveil one sometime between January and March 2025 according to an anonymous leaker with experience reporting on Capcom games.

Dusk Golem, an infamous leaker and frequent user of social media platform X (formerly Twitter), shared some exciting information regarding Resident Evil 9. According to him, an internal issue had caused a delay; however, that can now be addressed and release date for Resident Evil 9 remains on track for January 2025.

According to reports, Capcom is developing their next title using the open world functionality of RE Engine that was first featured in Dragon’s Dogma 2, with an exotic locale inspired by Singapore as part of an open world setting. Furthermore, this will close an arc begun by RE7 back in 2017. With such an ambitious development timeline and high expectations attached to it, Capcom could take advantage of one of upcoming gaming events like Xbox Games Showcase or Summer Games Fest to announce their latest title and showcase it publicly for players to experience first hand.

It is a major title

Since Resident Evil 7 brought new life into the series in 2017, fans have eagerly anticipated its next major entry – be it another remake or an original game which expands upon its narrative – while Capcom recently experienced great success with Dragon’s Dogma 2 (an open world RPG that incorporates some features found in Monster Hunter), an RPG which also incorporates some Monster Hunter elements.

Dusk Golem reports that CAPCOM has been working on Resident Evil 9 since 2018 with plans to release it by 2025. According to him, this game will feature the largest budget in franchise history – making it very ambitious title.

The original Resident Evil game was released to great acclaim and became one of the top selling PlayStation products, but its plot lacked any coherent direction or connection to Umbrella or Wesker’s legacy; several projects were started but eventually cancelled due to this gap in continuity.
