The games in the series have always had multiple characters for every fighting style. That means players can choose several characters to play with based on their favorite combat methods and each character offers a distinct variant of the style, or sometimes merging it with other styles. Reina is going to combine Mishima-style combat together with Taido the Okinawan martial art which aims to improve the understanding of Karate. Even though Reina will be special, her repertoire of moves includes some of the famous attacks from Heihachi.

Reina as with others Mishimas have famous electric abilities from the Mishima family. A lot of her actions can be observed highlighted by lighting that is yellow and purple. Her resemblance to the style of Mishima doesn’t stop at that point, though. Reina includes Heihachi’s legendary headbutt and overhead kick which is a direct reference to his set of moves. Similar to all Mishima relatives, Reina has the Hell Sweep as well as the Electric Wind Godfist. Its Rage Art pays homage to Heihachi in addition to an enormous shadow in the shape of the hair of Heihachi, which is positioned around Reina after she has completed her attack. Tekken uses authentic fighting techniques and these intense attack styles are paired with her usage of Taido.

Reina Will Have a Strong Focus on Movement

Reina is an instructor of Taido which is a form of Karate which focuses on the various types of movements. Through the entire trailer, Reina can be seen doing various maneuvers to avoid attacks as well as complex movements between combat. The character has command ducks and commands rolls that allow the player to dodge enemies’ attacks and get rid of aggressiveness. At the time of her unveiling, designers said that the concept is dual, and the focus is on evasion as well as defense is coupled with a slew of extreme violent actions. Alongside her distinctive utilization of Mishima movements, she could be seen tormenting adversaries and ignoring her education to carry out attacks that are otherwise brutal. The variety of her movement repertoire makes her a candidate to become one of the Tekken’s most powerful combatants.

Reina’s love of movement and a variety of moves makes her like fellow series rookie Azucena which was considered to be among Tekken 8’s strongest fighters in the last open beta. The trailer of Reina is revealing a lot about her combat style however, understanding how she performs and how she fits into the metagame will take an adolescent amount of time. The Tekkenrewards old skills, using move lists that are carried over from earlier titles It will be fascinating to find out what she’s doing and how the other characters perform against old fighters that evolved through many games.
